I had a conversation with my daughter about this very thing. She thinks its ridiculous to give trophies for not achieving anything. She said how is it supposed to mean something when you didn't do anything to earn it in the first place? She's getting it!!!

- 2Posted by Non_mooching_artist 12 years agoIt really is. We have video games in my house, but there are limits, and they are not in a room tucked out of sight. My permission must be given to use them, and I also talk with my son about the fact that this is "not you in real life". He gets it, thankfully. But I also care, and teach, which is my job as a parent. Too many people seem to turn a blind eye, because its not convenient. If you can't distinguish between yourself and a computer simulated world, you have more major problems that led to your inability to discern between those two. Although, I do think it's funny that you can spend hours in some games customizing your character--sending him to the gym, earning money, buying clothes to improve his wardrobe, etc...| Mark as read | Best of... | Permalink

It is pretty funny about the garbling of one's "characters". My son was showing me that exact thing the other day, asking what I thought of such and such helmet/shoulder/body armor.
