Politically are you loyal to a party, a person or a set of values?

I think we all need to think about that question.\

12 years ago when asked what party I was, I would have answered Republican. By the end of Bush's first term I would have answered a Libertarian as I felt the Republicans had abandoned the principles which gave us some deficit pay down in the nineties.

If you asked me that now, my response is I dont support a party, and I do not fully trust any individuals. I am for small government with a very limited scope as to what government is responsible to govern. A longer answer may have to follow to explain, but stating that starts conversations about what it means to have small government and what government should be limited too.

When someone asks you what party you like or whom you support what do you say? Does it start conversations that allow you to explain why government should be small and its scope extremely limited? If not I think you should think about how you can change the response to get people talking.

What do you think?

As for the question in the title, I am loyal to myself and thus my values.

As for the question in your post, my answers depends on who I'm talking to, if I want to engage them in a discussion, and the best approach for engaging them in discussion.
