My intention is to try to clarify how utterly INSANE an open border policy is for a country that offers government handouts, and requires ever increasing income taxes to pay for the handouts!

That simply proves we are NOT helping other countries by taking their highly motivated and intelligent resources.

Stefan Molyneux points out that IQ & Empathy are our truest national resources as a country. Given those things we will improve life for ourselves and our fellow man. And that will spill over to other countries.

So, at some point, human beings are Voters, Consumers, and Income Generators (via taxes). And the 80/20 (pareto's law) says that 80% of the taxes are paid by 20% of the people. I believe it is actually that the square root of the tax payers pay 50% of the taxes, but 2 of those is close enough.

The government, therefore needs new people to come in, and pay taxes. The Old people shift to becoming the recipients of the taxes. And this is the first step into the conundrum!

The proper thing is for people to have 2.5 kids (or 2+ kids per household, and replace themselves). But as people acquire wealth, get an education, and feel a greater need to give their children the best possible jumping off point in their life, families have FEWER kids (my mom had 11 Siblings, I had 3, my daughter has ZERO). It is a side effect of the cost of raising a child, and the relative certainty your children don't die from drinking bad water, or lack of emergency health care. Plus the invention of Birth Control.

So, we are NOT replacing ourselves. And it takes like 18 years for that baby to become a worker that gets tax. (BTW, Fight for 15 is a government goal. At 15/hr EVERYONE pays more income taxes, it will be net destructive). So, is there a faster way to bring someone in that can work and pay taxes.

Yes, LEGAL Immigration. But at what costs? They bring their own Culture, and they may FAIL to make a living, and may have to be supported by the government programs we need them to be funding. That becomes a numbers game, AND OUR Prior to 1965 Immigration act (and the new rules) required that the person could EITHER support themselves, or had family or community that agreed to take them in, and get them going. It worked, and we great.

But the change in 1965, which I believe is the beginning of the end of our country was also the beginning of Illegal Immigration, and Chain Migration. Once you are in, you can bring 3 more with you. And you no longer had to show you could support yourself. In fact, you appear to get bonus points if you are from a poor country, etc. But EVEN That bad law, which damaged us. Is NOT open Borders.

Moving along. We get to Illegal Immigration and Open Borders. If you open the borders, you get lower labor rates for MANY (and almost every job). This creates a have and have not pay system that benefits people like myself (I have a skill that is hard to learn). So, the lawn mowers are now illegals, and the previous lawn mowers become handy men (cheaper though). the previous handy men become plumbers and electricians (cheaper though, to get work). And it trickles up.

Big Companies LOVE this, and they support the BS Illegal Immigration and Open Borders because of it.
Now, MOST of the people coming here this way, are coming from SOCIALIST governments, low education places, and REALLY LOVE the Social Nets that are offered up. (We have 30 Million Illegals, and 30 Thousand homeless Vets. The resources we spend on the illegals would clearly take care of our vets. I say build them houses along the border, and let the stay for free, with a bonus for every body they bring in, watch the illegal immigration drop)...

Now, the democrats want this because these people coming this way are 80% democrat voters.

So, you have the situation where it is broke, and both parties like it broke because it serves them.

So, with Open Borders, you get back to the first video. Those who have the most gumption, and willing to take some level of risk to come here, LEAVE the very countries that need them. It weakens their country far more than it helps us.

But, we are not choosing these people, and along with them, we get an increased amount of crime. Illegals make up less than 10% of our population, but almost 20% of our prisons. In fact, our prison over population is LITERALLY the illegals and the crime they bring here. Crime pays better for illegals than for citizens. They are able to wash the permanent stain by simply changing their identity since they are not tied to a life here with a birth certificate.

So where's my argument? Open Borders seems to be "fair" (the argument of the left). And wouldn't it be nice if all these people could come here and be productive members of society, and respect our laws and our culture, and NOT consume welfare? Yes, it would be.

The Ignorance of Open Borders is that WE CAN SEE the damage. First, look to Europe, there are not enough houses for them. There are not enough jobs for them. If 500 MILLION came to the USA tomorrow, how would we absorb them? At what point are they an invasion force? What if they OPENLY ADMIT they want to come here and CHANGE our country and they are willing to do it by out voting us once they are here?

Now "500 Million is ridiculous you say"... It makes the point that there is a limit. And once you place ANY LIMIT on it, you are admitting that Open Borders CAN'T work. You must regulate this.

What about impact on the communities? Our A rated elementary school is now C rated. We watched it happen. It went from the occasional kid who could not speak English to 5-10% of every class. Now, the cost per child per year is roughly $10,000 and that is fine. Except when the county has 10,000 children of illegals who are adding an UNPLANNED $100,000,000.00 per year of demand on limited tax dollars. So, now, in our county, READING in ENGLISH is no longer a required class in Middle School. And colleges are no longer requiring passing a basic MATH test, or having taken math in H.S.

Oh, and the kids get translators if English isn't their primary language? Because No Child Left Behind says we have to do whatever we can to keep the person at grade level, as opposed to letting them REMEDIATE it by doing the same year twice while they NATURALLY learn the language. Oh, too much stigma...

So, exactly how do you PLAN for an unknown amount of Immigration? And how does this help either the host country, or the country of origin? Oh, I see how it gives a TINY TINY percent of people a "chance" at a better life for them. But the same can be said of a Controlled Borders! In fact, with controlled borders, and an intelligent plan for letting people immigrate here, we can once again insure the values of the country are not eroded, and that our culture is not destroyed.

During the election there were Mexican Protesters with a Child Flipping off Americans say "Fxxx America".
While they were here Illegally.

That is EXACTLY the picture I hold of an Open Border Policy!
