I don't have a problem with Giving Tuesday. I have an amount that I target to give over the course of the year, but sometimes it gets lost in the press of business and family. And besides, the prospect of grabbing a little bit of the Gates Foundation matching funds for causes that I support was worth targeting some giving activity to that time window.

I give to several charities and groups. I told them the day I get a note telling me it is time to give is the day I stop giving. As you said I give when I want the amount I want to whom I want. I don't like anyone or any group telling me when and how much to give.
No group has that authority (excluding the swamp dwellers in DC).
