The New Libertarian Party

What are your thoughts about the Libertarian party which embraces fiscal conservatism as its foundation and liberal social values on a national scale? Minimal government involvement and limited to prevention of crime and social unrest. People are rewarded for hard work and fired for ineptitude and laziness. Economically, balanced budgets, 25% taxes on wealthier "producers", 30% taxes "takers" income like those who take government income, 25% corporate tax with limited deductions, 20% taxes on investment income, limited regulation, flexible lending terms for venture capitalist and small business but with strict repayment terms, open markets for trade and manufacturing, less regulation for companies, ability to litigate as needed, and never any unions. Government jobs have a 401(k), employee and government shared health benes and a 40 hour workweek. Minimal government programs that are accountable, transparent, and people get fired when they don't do the job efficiently and effectively. Could a political party that looks like this ever become a reality? Who would support it?

I did this last election. The whole tax policies I disagree with, no IRS, no income taxes, no capital gains taxes...... You own yourself, therefore you own all the work and property you do unless otherwise specified in a private contract. The Libertarian party needs to better understand private property rights, in particular intellectual, however they are by far the best since they present a REAL difference between the two parties that dominate and are the same. I think it is very possible such a party could become a reality but if you are suggesting the tax rates above then you have to scrap the whole taxation idea and start from scratch. How about the Government is not allowed to affect the economy in any way. (i.e. no bailouts, no quantitative easing, no legal tender laws, and no Government regulation only private entity regulation{esrb/UL/ect}. I wouldn't say never any unions just that Government laws cannot create one nor can it force anyone to join it as a requirement for work. How about no minimum wage law since it negatively affects those who it is professed to help the most. No tariffs/UN/ or any entangling alliances of any kind, which has been big reason that the last official declared war was WWII. Not a bad start.

I like the idea of govt not interfering in any way. Time for them to get out. The IRS being out of the picture is cool. But I think it's such a dramatic change, it would freak out people too much, even though everyone hates the IRS. No min wage either. People get paid according to market prices. I have always been a big proponent of globalization. But I can't help but wonder if keeping manufacturing closer to US through tariffs will keep quality, wages, accountability and transparency up while keeping corruption down? I have to think that one through because globalization provides the foundation for a big awesome market for everyone.
      Thanks for your feedback.
I am always curious to see what others have to say and who take the time to learn and understand these kinds of things rather than just spouting off a bunch of opinions and views.
