Out-thinking a Looter

We have a new (to me) assistant manager on the night shift.
She looks like a short, heavy version of Duke Nukem... flat-top and all.

So, last night I unfortunately showed up in the break room in time for the pre-shift meeting. Wherein a store co-manager was telling everyone how we were going to have to resume doing calisthenics and the company cheer.
The calisthenics remind me of the movie "Gung-ho", and... no... I exercise at home.
The company cheer is to freaking cult-like for me to participate in.
So I got into a heated mock argument with a co-worker about not-doing the calisthenics. We were just joking around, but...
Later, as I was trying to remove nails from the wheel of a pallet jack, this AM came up to me and asked me about the argument. I told her about not doing the calisthenics, that I was hired to do a job, not exercise.
She lectured me about my employment agreement, and that I was hired to do that, too, not just wax floors.
I sighed internally and dropped the issue.
Later in the morning, I found the co-manager, and suggested helpfully that, since changing me from 10pm-7am to 11pm to 8am didn't make any difference, how about we try 10:30 to 7:30? He immediately liked the idea.
The meeting is at 10pm.
If I show up at 10:30pm.... problem solved.
I really really really really really really hate the feudal mindset surrounding employment these days. It's a result of the natural "big business/big government" mindset of the proles, but I really don't like the company for whom I work sticking their nose in my personal business, even and especially if it's for the sake of their profit margin.
I worked 27 years in construction; I know how to stretch. And I trade skill and labor in exchange for money; I have no personal, emotional stake in Wal-mart, nor do I want one engendered in my by sophomoric cheers.
Next time Duke Nukem gets in my face... I'm just going to ask her... "Who is John Galt?"

the team does the calisthenics, takes the courses on sensitivity, non-discrimination, grievance procedures, equal opportunity, positive attitudes, healthy eating, health safety environment,,,
Then, no surprise, you are told that some contractor can do the job for less money.
