cap marker, stuff in pocket
DONE!
thanks for the guarding. did you get it?
Unfortunately, we had the usual spat about who got to be Kato.
I show my idiosyncrasies in radio listening again! Kato is the guy who drives the Black Beauty for The Green Hornet.
The Green Hornet was the crime-fighting hero of a radio show - called, strangely enough, The Green Hornet.
I once owned a maroon AMC Hornet.
Never mind. I don't know who Kato is....but you can drive if you want. Sorry it's not green.
thanks anyway.
OK, how about this? Did you know that there used to be a brand of very large marker called "Magnum"? We, of course, put them in our shooting bags and used them to draw circles on targets, giggling off and on. Can't find them any more......
emend: to correct or improve
amend: to make better by some change
both are from the same Latin word, the prefix e- [out] + menda, mendum [a fault or blemish]
In the examples for amend, there is a sense merely of correction; in those for emend, there is a sense of a process of correction through scholarly debate.
I lean towards emend, just to show I'm smarter than they are, but either is correct.
