Supervolcano Alert! by Robert Gore

Once every 600,000 years or so Yellowstone’s supervolcano erupts, making Mt. St. Helens, Pinatubo, and Krakatoa look like firecrackers. It blankets thousands of miles around it in lava and ash, casting a pall over the earth that lowers temperatures and hinders plant life for decades. Compared to Mother Nature we anthropogenic climate changers (if we are that) are pikers. Interestingly enough, that supervolcano is due for another eruption. Interestingly enough, so too is another supervolcano, one constructed entirely by humans. As to which erupts first, bet on the latter.

This is an excerpt. For the full article, please click the above link.

    I love the metaphoric analogy.
I agree that the division, like the pendulum, has gone as far as it can.

Yellowstone does this every year, whereas society every 200 and 400 years; although it may react badly to the Grand Solar Minimum as many already have, Yellowstone, as you say, has vented itself, therefore it and our kakistocracy have been vetted.

Seeing that our monetary system is 'Funny' (there are those "Scare Quotes again") so to might we laugh at our debt. That laughing and pointing of fingers toward the parasitical humanoid ruless class and those made into it's own image may in fact, vent our inner volcanoes.

So..if nature doesn't kill the human race, left to itself, it will commit suicide. You'd think since we are intellectually superior, we'd last longer than the dinosaurs. If we do survive that long, I suspect that the universe would have good reason to fear us.

The system is so intertwined because of the internet and computers I think the only solution would be a super volcano at this point. Otherwise it will be a slow grim descent into the most controlling and enslaving of mankind that has ever existed on the planet dooming us to a agonizing death. Jackson Hole is hosting all the central bankers this week from all the countries of the world. Would it be too much too hope that even a large burp from Yellowstone could cripple the leadership of the enslavement of mankind? I don't fear surviving catastrophe, I may or may not win. I fear living through the slow grinding death of continued encroaching enslavement while the mobs cheer on its descent.

Having read all that's so far below, me dino is relishing a wicked thought.
In the midst of the Grand Solar Minimum during a total eclipse of the sun, a replica of the six-miles-wide dinosaur age ending asteroid strikes an awaking boiling up lava Yellowstone caldera.
Bwahaha! Wouldn't that be a great big wonderful messy blast?
Hey, we're all gonna die anyway~so we may as well have fun.
Wait a minute. For the first time in months, I'm thinking of the Addams Family playing with toy trains.
I love it when they play with toy trains. Love it!

Never let a natural disaster go to waste. At least the Yellowstone supervolcano would cool the earth. That would put an end to the global warming issue once and forall, therefore less division among people. I just hope it happens before I take the the big natural nap. I want to see what man actually does about it after he gets over the big debate.

Most of my life I had actually hoped for some alien spaceship to land on Earth and tell us to "knock it off", our thermonuclear war aspirations, and other nice things we develope to kill each other. Probably my favorite, "The Day the Earth Stood Still" with Gort. "It is no concern of ours how you run your own planet, but if you threaten to extend your violence, this Earth of yours will be reduced to a burned-out cinder. Your choice is simple: join us and live in peace, or pursue your present course and face obliteration." Maybe the Yellowstone Caldera is the insurance that Gort left behind to cleanse the Earth of humanoids.

What's for freezing left of us after the Big Caldera Bang will be firing up emissions like crazy out of a forlorn hope to heat up the world.

Yah, the left will be screaming, "drill baby, drill". That will alleviate our differences on fossil fuels and we'll get along better.

There may not even be a left among the remnants of mankind. They will be too preoccupied with survival.
Well, at first that should be the case. There's always somebody who comes along wanting to subjugate others.

Hey Allosaur, how's this for a movie plot? The global warming guys realize Yellowstone's about to blow, and the only way to stop it is by plugging it with an asteroid. Old Al goes up on the trip to divert the asteroid (Along with Bruce Willis and Billy Bob), and nobly allows himself to be used as propellant to save the day at the last minute!

I do disagree with the military point, in that when troops are sent to areas where there is no organized opposition, they invariable do well overall, as they do pursue local help projects, and do a good job of making people change their view of the US. That usually is messed up by a terrorist group forcing them to submit, or our own terrorist group (the government) doing something incredibly stupid. You are very correct on the fact all western governments are bankrupt, the world is running on a huge debt load, which I believe would also extend to China and Russia if they had honest book keeping, meaning the whole system is, and has been, doomed to collapse.

Then what of these young people dresses in Black hoodies, pants and masks that the media shows on Cable TV and makes no mention of. They're thugs hired by the likes of Soros and others to destroy our way of life for there own power building. These are the Neo-Nazi Brown shirts of the this era. the farce of it is that they are trying to destroy the White Supremacist groups when they are are worse than them.

I heard an interesting comment as to how we will know it is ready to blow, when all of the geysers shut down. that will be an indication of the magma rising to the top. if true lets hope the geysers keep erupting
