"How Glad I Am for Man, Tonight," my second book of poetry, is now free to download from Amazon. All weekend. The price is to click below and download. I know this is very frightening, to many. What are you going to DO with the thing, once you have it? I mean...poetry? To quote the husband of a friend, invited to a poetry reading: "I'd rather scrape my teeth on the curb stone!" Now, do you REALLY think that I, WALTER DONWAY, would subject you to that kind of experience? No. And, if you are very brave, and download this book, and, yes, read a few poems--start with short ones--you might discover what, for me, has been the light of my life... And you might share, too, on the long, long odds that one of your friends will discover it, and poetry, and be indebted to you forever...

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the introduction to your book. Through the years I have, at times, been compelled to write poems. A signal would go off in my head and I would write a poem. I have no preconceived idea what I’m going to write, it just happens. The exercise has always been cathartic and that’s been the payoff. A year could go by before I lay an egg, expel a pearl would be a better metaphor; to me they are precious as pearls. You obviously know your stuff, you've inspired me; I will read some of your poems (the short ones) Thanx.
