I was fortunate to read Atlas in early 60's along with my husband. We took turns attending the lectures as we had small children & not enough $$ to pay for the both of us as well as sitters. I have never regretted one day of the knowledge I acquired over these years, especially after having attended the lectures. I am now 77 and still shake my head at those who do not understand the issues or ignore them altogether. I would say that I've worked hard all of my life..and still am working....and have studied and understood the messages of Ayn Rand & still do. The lectures aren't an absolute necessity but for me having been raised a Christian...it was an effort to understand and toss out of my brain that which was not relevant. I've succeeded.
