This one hits close to home. A close relative of mine owns an industrial mechanical business. He has two partners. He owns 48%. His lawyer (and life-long friend) owns 3%. His partner who is Latino owns 49%. Since the partner is a "minority" the company was able to take advantage of the minority ownership advantage in government contracts. This company did a huge percentage defense department projects and made Billions in profits. Some of my other cousins complained that "they" got rich because one of the partners was a Latino and thus they had an unfair advantage. My cousin's own mother echoed that garbage – but never to his face.
I never saw it that way. All three partners were genius in their own right. My cousin along with his lawyer friend controlled the company. The majority owner is so intelligent that it’s scary. They and their families worked no less than 100 hours per week and these people knew their business. I admired their intelligence and "smart" business sense. Why not take advantage of government intervention?
I love it.
