The hatred of Russia then to Pres. Trump runs so deep any commision including current investigation will lead like all the others in the past covering up the Truth! All the the congressional reps don't understand that this process could try them up so they are unable to do their jobs (as if their doing anything now). Tragically, I only see this scenario leading to the complete dismantling of the government and both Dims & Rips cease to exist.

We already have investigations running in the House, Senate, and DOJ, and that isn't enough? Does anyone seriously think that an independent commission is going to somehow dig up evidence that the other three can't find?

Has anyone figured out what happens if the findings of these investigations reach differing conclusions? Will the American people accept a finding based on evidence they can't see, because of "national security?" Will the parties afflicted with Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) accept a conclusion that the President is innocent, or will there be an unending demand for more investigations?

Laurence Tribe, who has what one would think are reasonable legal credentials, is evidence of the mental damage inflicted by TDS. Tribe is declaring that Congress should proceed with "preemptive" impeachment of President Trump for fear of how damaging his impeachable acts will be when or if he commits any.

I feel like I'm observing an asylum run by the residents. Putin is right when he says these useless shenanigans are destructive to the American republic.

Should this independent Russian Commission not work out for lack of evidence or believed lies, this new disrupting distraction may keep Trump's eye off the ball for draining the swamp and his making America great again list of stuff he wants to do.
If Trump is still standing for not being impeached or resigning in four years, the Jackass Party hopes Trump will be so tarnished by mud-slinging that the way will be paved for the Evil Hag, Bozo Biden or Pocahontas Woo-woo-woo-Warren to be swept into the office with a landslide victory.

Thanks for the analysis. That was a procedural tactic I was not aware of. It doesn't bring up a question, however: why haven't the Republicans used it for nominations and other such when they clearly hold majorities in both houses of Congress?

While the effort is appreciated, if that is your website, please do something to compress the size of the files. Having to wait to download 10Mb before a reader can see a 10kb text file is just not efficient use of resources, and a waste of bandwidth.
