I don't have an opinion on Congressional pay, but there are a few things that are unfair in the article. They say the average in GA is $50k. They should adjust it for cost of living in DC.

Then they should also at least mention the issue of whether they want to attract the *average* wage earner to Congress. Maybe they do b/c they understand the average people they represent. Maybe they want to attract top performers who earn more than average. Maybe the service their providing the people of GA is something like providing sex or childcare, things many people would rather see done outside of a paid business transaction.

Wow. How does he get by?
