Does this remind you of anything in AS? Dr. Ferris' derision of reason and thinking, perhaps? Charles Kenny asserts that luck is the primary driver of wealth (see: http://www.businessweek.com/articles/201...).

I wasn't aware of this until hearing Dave Ramsey's response. To hear it, go to http://www.daveramsey.com/show/archives/... and click on Thursday, August 29. The response begins at 19:05 and ends at 28:45.

(Interested parties: keep listening after 28:45 to hear Dave's take on the fast-food "strikes.")

Wow. Its hard to believe that made it into business week. Luck can play a role but it is common knowledge from a young age that education is important. This country offers you a chance to succeed beyond your parents. I guess he is laying the groundwork for re-distribution of the wealth. Scary stuff.
