I found the article interesting but revealed nothing really new about JFK or the Kennedy Center elite.
My experience shows me that most of the "Cultural Elite" have no true Culture and are not elite. Most tend to view the world throught there distorting lenses so that people that are truly cultrured and justlu belong to an elite strata of society are in their view neither cultured or elite.
Most, but not all, of the Kennedy Center Elitist are Boors and snobs of the highest caliber.

I would take issue, not with the article linked here, but with the title. I read it as "Trump [was] unbearably squalid to elegant audience of Kennedy Center" -- which is a very different message from the article, which runs to "the elegant audience of the Kennedy Center finds Trump to be unbearably squalid, as they sit in a center named for an unbearably squalid presidency".
