Leukemia
I was just curious, does anyone have a working knowledge of the effects of Leukemia? Specifically, I guess I am asking - what should I expect if I have a parent who is diagnosed with it? Is treatment pervasive? What kind of longevity/life span should I expect? Symptoms?
Any insight would be much appreciated.

- 3Posted by $ iamfrankblanco 10 years, 5 months agoThank you so much. Not to depress everyone, but my mother is currently in remission for breast and lung cancer... even though I'm 31 - my parents had me later on in their lives, so my mom is 75 and my dad is 68. They've both had long, meaningful lives (Cuban migrants who escaped Castro's Cuba) but like any child - I don't think I'm prepared to let go. But I definitely am doing my due diligence and studying their conditions to make myself educated for their sake and mine.Mark as read | Parent | Best of... | Permalink|

- 2Posted by $ iamfrankblanco 10 years, 5 months agoI will. Thank you. I'm going to start having to drive down twice a month at least - luckily Orlando and Miami are a quick 3-hour jaunt apart.Mark as read | Parent | Best of... | Permalink|

- 1Posted by $ jbrenner 10 years, 5 months agoYou need to be more specific about the type of leukemia. The answers to your questions vary a lot depending on the exact type of leukemia.Mark as read | Best of... | Permalink|
- 3Posted by $ iamfrankblanco 10 years, 5 months agoSo after a bit of cajoling, found out it is Chronic Lymphocytic - which from my understanding - is the most aggressive form ... not sure what else to think about it other than it's awful.Mark as read | Parent | Best of... | Permalink|
- 2Posted by $ jbrenner 10 years, 5 months agoThat's a pretty metastatic form of leukemia. Make sure that the oncologist uses quantum dots so that he/she can find ALL of the cancer simultaneously.Mark as read | Parent | Best of... | Permalink|
