D'Souza Unchained

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wp6yf...

Dinesh D'Souza speaks the first time after the 2016 election. This 90 minute lecture is quite insightful and entertaining.
The Q&A at the end is quite good and covers a lot of ground.

I know he is no Objectivist, but I do enjoy laughing with conservative commentator Dinesh D'Souza. He is among the few public figures that exude the happy warrior persona in a sincere and endearing way, while simultaneously making a mockery of big government elitists. Agree with him or not, I believe he is a net asset to our nation and we could use more like him.

His optimism is impressive considering what he has been put through, while witnessing unequal justice meted out to the better connected. That an immigrant like him can still be thankful to be an American should give us all pause.

Happy Thanksgiving,
O.A.

D'Souza has paid a price for his conservative views. For a relatively low level violation of election laws (contributed too mauch to a campaign) he was fined (not unusual) and sentenced to jail (very, very unusual) . This occurred after his film criticizing Obama came out. The claim was there was absolutely no link between the two events. Yeah, right.

Excellent man! I saw his first movie on Obama and was greatly impressed with his analysis. He is a sane balance on the right to the whacko on the left by the name of Michael Moore.

Sometimes a legal immigrant value creator is the best and most knowledgeable advocate for the American Idea.

Yes ,2 types of legal immigrants The desired they grew up in a country where freedom is only a dream and they aspire to being in the U S A.
The other In the last 8 years it was come from a country that dreams of destroying the USA.
The desired see the collectivism for the ruinous
Corrupt scam that it is and often are confused by many Americans willing to discard our freedoms for unkept promises.

D'Souza is a person that could be a character out of an Ayn Rand novel. The brave soul who is persecuted for his views. OA's description of him is accurate. I can't think of anyone not in politics who is quite like him. Buckley came close but had nowhere near the humor that abides within the man.

Greetings O. A. and Happy Thanksgiving. I share your sentiments about D'Souza. He truly understands the danger of the Left, and although I don't agree with his religious viewpoints, I think he is clearly a net asset to the cause of liberty. You are right as well about his optimism and humor. I saw him give a talk once in Cambridge, MA (talk about going into the lion's den) and he was very entertaining. It's absolutely outrageous that he was targeted and put in jail by Obama.

    Happy Thanksgiving O.A.,
Thanks for sharing D'Souza's video and thanks O.A. for contributing this last year to my understanding of an objectivist's point of view.
    Warm regards,

Well said, and I agree, in particular about Mr. D'Souza. He is a true American in the real meaning of the word.

If we were to exclude ourselves via some "Objectivist litmus test" from listening to "Conservative" people of his quality, it would be a serious error in judgment, and it is ourselves who would be ill-served. We would be missing much wisdom, facts, excellent analysis, and most importantly, a much needed sense of optimism and humor we've all needed for a long time. That is an important fuel is our battle...which is far, far from over.

    But the sun is rising...

Oh, and thanks for the link. I will be watching...
