Imagine if everything you knew about the environment was wrong. Imagine that global warming was something to be desired, not feared. Imagine that organic food, sustainability, biofuels and the WWF were far more harmful to the world and its inhabitants than GM food, industry, oil and ExxonMobil.

This is the author of the article comparing shale oil to Reardon Metal. He's a Brit. There is a remarkable video interview,"Great Britan, the green movement, the end of the world" . It is an hour of genius.

The more hoped for and convenient something is, the more skepticism and critical thinking we need. It's so easy to pick a conclusion (e.g. God loves me and will punish people who do wrong.), look for evidence to support it, and then convince yourself you came to the conclusion through impartial reasoning.

You need to check out the linked post and not just the quote. That's from one of his recent books. The video interview covers a broad range of topics. He is a pretty smart and engaging dude. No conclusions here, just foder for thought. Also check out the Shale...Reardon Metal in "Hot". :)
