I'm still alive, just been extremely busy with work & album release. Meander Lane's 24 track album "Soul Rock Music" is now available to download at various online music retailers. It's been a long time coming - two years work in fact. We're already working on another album planned for release late this year. We're currently number 23 in the British reverbnation rock charts & we're getting serious interest now. Hope everyone is well, I'll probably be back in the Gulch over the next couple of days. J (crazy eye).

Ayn Rand denounced Beethoven as "malevolent" but many of her fans are still his. She explained how and why in _The Romantic Manifesto_. (Briefly, your intentional perception defines the experience.) I can point to music that others might not like but which nonetheless meets the criteria for romantic realism. So, just because it does not float my boat, does not mean that it is not "good."
But that is my question: What makes this good?
Trite as it may sound these days, I'm always pushing boundaries & experimenting. I suppose I'm guilty of doing that for the sake of it sometimes but it's what 'we' do. It's how we create new sounds. Our choice of instruments is odd at times - but then so was Glenn Miller's at the time. He was searching for a particular sound & he found it.
I'm not the singer, nor do I write many lyrics. I do everything else though. I write the music, play all the instruments, record & produce. As a 'band' we've been going about 4 years & only now are we beginning to get noticed. We've written about 6 albums worth of material, much of which is yet to be released. Soul Rock Music is our third so far. We plan to release another album later in the year.
I've yet to read Romantic Manifesto. I look forward to it.
