    What's your point? The church leadership has every right to excommunicate (or threaten to do so) any member of their organization.

      I suppose, though people should be aware that the Mormon church is not an institution which promotes freedom of thought. There was an article posted here a little while ago claiming that Brigham Young University (BYU), a school owned by the Mormon church, was supposedly a bastion of educational freedom and classical liberalism. The point I'm making here is that no institution which is under the control of the Mormon church can ever be called a bastion of freedom, because the Mormon church itself is an opponent of freedom.

        No organization "under control" of anyone can be considered a bastion of freedom.

        Again, Maph, you present juvenile thoughts. Please refrain from stating them as profundity. If anything, present them as questions to provoke comments and elicit info.
