    The voice, breathtaking!
    But listen to the words.
    What raptures of emotion, of enthusiasm, dedication, service and worship can only be reached by the man with one barely open eye and closed mind.

    I love national anthems, the one of the Soviet Union is the most stirring of all. So, Zac, thanks for that, especially as I have not heard the words in English before.
    I am reminded of this by Shelley published in 1818-

    Ozymandias
    I met a traveller from an antique land
    Who said: "Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
    Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
    Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown
    And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
