White House requests comments on life in 2030... hehe...

This was in response to their request that we tell them what we think life will be like in 2030 due to the new EPA carbon regulations. Below is my response:
The year is 2030. The American economy has suffered under increasingly crippling government regulations for over a century, and has finally reached a breaking point.
The People's Republic of California declared bankruptcy last year, with repercussions across the entire nation as the Federal Government has foolishly bailed out numerous private and public pensions, and created new social welfare programs that brought the number of Americans receiving direct government assistance to 2 out of 3.
Mexico, having gone through a revolution four years ago, is flourishing in some states near the Texas border, with direct private investment from individual Texans, where a number of them are choosing to now live due to the crippling Federal regulations.
The Governor of Texas, seeking to prevent the loss of some of the most successful Texan citizens to Mexican states, signs a unanimously passed law that nullifies all Federal laws and regulations that are not expressly authorized by the US Constitution.
The President of the United States, believing this to be an illegal move by the state of Texas, akin to secession, and orders the Army to the New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana borders with Texas. Immediately after the announcement, the Governors of those states, displeased with the state of the Union, notify the President that they do not approve of the use of the military against a sovereign state.
And so, the country stands on the brink of a near civil war, what happens next will determine if we live in a Fascist-style tyranny where private individuals own businesses and Government regulates them by telling them who they must hire, how much they can charge, where they can sell them, and other laws. OR, if we will return to the principles of the founding of this nation envisioned by the brave men and women who sacrificed all they had in the comfort of Europe in order to eek out a free existence in the wilderness called America.

What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?
But I am done with this creed of corruption.
I am done with the monster of "We," the word of serfdom, of plunder, of misery, falsehood and shame.
And now I see the face of god, and I raise this god over the earth, this god whom men have sought since men came into being, this god who will grant them joy and peace and pride.
This god, this one word:
"I.”
― Ayn Rand, Anthem
In 2030 if thing continue the way they are. We will all be slaves to the collective. Shareing in misery, gaining no joy, losing all hope.
In 2030 if things continue the way they are, Our thoughts will not be ours, we will be controled by others forced to do the will of the collective.
In 2030 if things continue as they are, creativity will be snuffed, excellence will be condemned, and all will be forced in to equal shares of poverty save those elists who live and enjoy the freedom they have drained from the people as a vampire drains the blood of his victim until the victim shrinks in death drained of his life-force, with no will to fight for his own life only glad his suffering is over.

Negative interest rates chasing money out of Europe.
A metaphorical "night of the long knives" has already begun in the form of the IRS scandal and many other ways. The opposition is being denied free speech in many venues, intimidated, dismissed and shouted down with accusations of racism, bigotry, misogyny, indifference to the plight of the poor etc. When it becomes literal some will resist. When the Kristallnacht occurs it will be too late to stop the fascists without civil war.
We must be diligent to preempt this scenario or history shall surely repeat.
Respectfully,

Now... Police and Federal agents on the other hand, are not overwhelmingly conservatives. I don't know what the mix is, but it's definitely not what the military is. Police & Federal agents would be more than willing to obey those orders.
Granted, I left the army in 1990, so I don't have any recent first hand knowledge, but some class mates of mine who are Col's/Gen's have been forced out if they were more conservative and those who are more progressive remain. This has been going on for a few years. That's the senior officer ranks. At the enlisted level, they have often been more collectivist. Just look at what how they live - told what to do most of the day, live in somebody else's housing, get subsistence for their food, and get special pricing for their goods at the PX.
Don't get me wrong, I have great respect for the men and women of our armed forces. They do a thankless but necessary job. But please don't confuse that for conservative philosophy.
Senior officers they tend to be more liberal than the Army average though I understand. It helps to be willing to compromise with the big government system and not speak up, in order to get promoted.
