Just an observation...

The history of the world, all empires, and this nation, is the history of mankind. And just as we, as individuals, have our frailties and shortcomings. So does this, and all other nations and peoples.
Yet beauty and greatness exist, not because of the ugliness we have done, but despite it. So many people are so articulate in their criticisms of the shortcomings, yet so willing to remain silent about the greatness.
It is possible to oppose the ugliness, yet honor the greatness. I believe it is a grave error to fail to recognize this.

"Babies get born, even in a war
I guess just to show us, what livin's for" - Dwight Yoakum...
I absolutely love that line. Brought me to tears when I first heard it.
When I started my research that lead me to attempt writing a book, the first thing I noticed was that Mankind was Amazing and against all odds to boot. Together with my day to day interaction with hundreds of people gave me the sense that "Evil does NOT reside in the hearts of 'Men", otherwise we as a species could not of created so many incredible things throughout antiquity nor could we have survived this long.
