First reports indicate an 18 year old college student spending the day in Central Park with friends stepped on a pressure sensitive device that blew his foot off. I realize we've had home grown bombers before and, this may be another one or, it could be the first Jihadi IED to go off since the World Trade Center in 1993. Does anyone know of another IED incident prior to this one?

If his friends are telling the truth, the device appears not to have been targeted at any particular person but, to have been set to kill or maim whichever unfortunate person stepped on it.
