Great Job!

So I just had the best weekend ever. I saw Atlas Shrugged: Part II Friday night, and it was WONDERFUL! The casting was perfect, the acting was phenomenal... I dragged my mother, who hasn't read the book, and she loved it, too. Excellent work!
Then yesterday I attended FreedomWorks' FreePAC Arizona. Not being a native Phoenician, the long drive made me miss the training session, but I was fortunate enough to hear all of the speeches at the rally. The speakers were phenomenal, and I'm so grateful for the experience.
I'm very concerned about the direction the country is taking; it seems like no one is willing to work anymore. For example, a couple of months ago here in town, one high school attempted to implement a policy that would make failing students impossible, regardless of their work or effort. My mother, who teaches sixth grade, occasionally rewards students with a lollypop, and is constantly bombarded by students who didn't even try to do their work, and who don't understand why they don't get candy, too. I notice little things like this a lot around me, but I don't know what I can do to counteract it. I'm seventeen, and attend a very politically active school, in which I'm one of maybe four conservatives in a class of two-hundred. Every day I hear my peers talk about the failures of capitalism, how communism is the only way because the world is filled with "greedy bas*****," joking about bringing back the guillotine for those who act only in their own self-interest (while they said this, I was reading "The Fountainhead," which made it really awkward). When I assert my position, I'm either attacked or apologized-to twenty times over. I'm not so worried about this, but I hate confrontation, and I'm a terrible speaker, which makes debate near impossible. I'm trying to improve myself, but sometimes--most times--it's overwhelming. Does anyone have any suggestions? What gives you the courage to stand up?
Again, great job to everyone connected with Atlas Shrugged and FreedomWorks! Thanks for the opportunity! I can't wait for Part III.

It just takes an individual to make a difference.
