Groups have been collecting names of "Hawaiians" for about a decade promoting their goal of establishing some form of government. The whole thing is pretty odd as they get to define who has the right mix of this mysterious "Hawaiian blood" plus as a group they are pretty splintered. Think everyone wants the power.
A quick story to help understand the mentality.
Back when I was driving boats, we had a class from a local Hawaiian only school on the boat, we were boarding our other guests and had to move them up stairs with the kids. When the teacher saw this, she told the kids "get in your seats, these people have stolen enough from you and they'll take your seats as well." The ethnic bias is pathetic, and it's looks like the Prez has the executive branch two step down pretty good.
The divider in chief... say it isn't so. We contemplate sharia law influence in our legal system and there is always someone wanting to allow Muslim women to have drivers licenses without revealing their faces for the photos... Our president it seems would like to see it so...
this is unbelievable. Why isn't this all over the news? and what the heck does the dept of the Interior have to do with it?! It's clearly something Congress would have to address.
I suspect that the department of the interior is involved because they deal with native Americans.....but more importantly the administration can use this agency's "rulesmakings" ability to pass laws without the congress. Remember...." I have a pen and a phone"!!!!!!!

They'll try pulling this crap in OK among the tribes, hoping to drive a wedge between the tribal members and non-tribal members.
I don't think it'll work, because from all evidence I've seen, the biggest, most encompassing tribe people here seem to claim is "Oklahoman".
But, they'll try anyway...
