Snowden Took a Job To Leak NSA Secrets? Cool. Let's Have More Like Him at the DOJ, IRS ...

"The NSA justifies its actions using the war on terror," [Deborah Peel, MD, founder of Patient Privacy Rights] added. "The Department of Health and Human Services claims its actions are justified to lower healthcare costs. These are obviously very different agencies collecting different kinds of very sensitive personal information, but both set up hidden, extremely intrusive surveillance systems that violate privacy rights and destroy trust in government."
Ain't that sad?
It wasn't this way until about 4 years ago. I had some doubting moments during the Clinton administration, but they were resolved when the Congress had the gonads to start the impeachment process.
I'm actually grateful for my place in time, since I don't want to witness where all of this ends up. My biggest regret is that we have not done well as to my grandchildren...I mean 'we' as the voting part of the nation. My grandchildren will never be taught the true beauty of the American experiment, much less get to experience it.
It's raining again! But only long enough to catch me out shopping for beer and a corned beef brisket. I'll send the rain your way, when you replace my boat windshield...deal?
Teach your grandkids well. It's all in books....they MUST read. My first grandbaby is due on the 1st of August. I have his little library just about complete. :) I need to ask Papa Possum when I can buy a copy of his Nursery Rhymes though.
I won't be getting too far with my grandchildren, since their mother has some very stern rules that I seem to go against. I tried to get the 2 year old over here for last Halloween, and was told that she wasn't allowed to have any candy (sugar?), so she would be going to some houses that follow that rule.
Christmas was out of the question, since my daughter-in-law is Jewish, and totally against the Santa tradition. You can just imagine how Easter goes down....
The only holiday that they seem to celebrate is Thanksgiving.
As to your library for your upcoming event (congratulations), take a minute to research the Horatio Alger juvenile stories. They are so Randian, that I wonder if they shared some DNA!
This book is actually taught in college, where I first came across it. When I first read AS, Ragged Dick came back to mind.
Beats the hell out of Suzie Has Two Mommies!
Sorry to hear about your daughter in law's...problems.
I'll check out the books. Recommend a favorite? Thanks :)
