The Iron Triangle

On Thursday the FDA decided it would group vapors, some other candy tobacco and premium Cigars. So the law was passed a couple years ago that now allows the fda to make rules if kids ( under 18) are smoking. But no kid is paying $15 for an excellent 90 min smoke of an excellent Avo.
So in this case, big tobacco used the beauracracy to make sure more people smoked cigarettes. Law passed, big tobacco pays, bureaucracy makes law getting rid of cigar and vape biznesses.
Thoughts?

I don't follow the logic nor the syntax but I do see the benefit to the government for an illogial sin tax.

As for the last line that is not buying votes or favors any more it's now approved by SCOTUS as
money equals free speech. Wow did the public get hosed on that one.

You get a congressional subcommittee, a bureaucratic agency, and an interest group and there are very few limits on what they can do. The new tobacco rules that do not even touch big tobacco are an excellent example of thier (the IT) destructive abilities.

The one thing one must ask themselves: if tobacco, with or without the additional poisons was soooooo bad...then why do they still sell it? The answer is not that the tobacco industry is more powerful than government, the courts or even their crony connections.
I think the obvious answer is that it was government that created this problem.

Since when would a business act in a way that purposely harms it's consumers...they'd eventually go out of business...right? Unless they had the go ahead, the full support and authority of government.

I guess the lesson is stock up on vape gear now, maybe in a year you'll need to visit your local dope dealer for refills.

Government has no business telling adults what substances they can use.
