For some time facebook has limited posts from the right wing and posts dealing with hunting, shooting and the 2nd Amendment are often closed down with no notice, only a message that says they were cut because of content.
A recent event involved a couple on a Black Bear hunt, showing the dead bear with the head being held up by the couple.
If you have never hunted Black Bears, you need to understand that these hunts are as close as you can get to a hunt where the prey is smart and strong enough to turn the hunt around. This 600 (?) pounder was in the class that might end up eating a hunter if they weren't careful. A very big animal.
wow. I knew there was going to be some kind of bill introduced after those killings. Google and Facebook need to take the lead on this and make very clear they will not allow their sites to be policed in such a way. I think Facebook has even taken some backlash for its self policing .
Back in the 80s, SF author Jerry Pournelle predicted that computer networks (back then, time-share systems and primarily BBSes) would be instrumental in bringing down the communist oligarchies, because the oligarchs could no longer control the flow of information.
So much for that.
Now, not only will the government be able to monitor and control information on the internet, old-style BBSes will become virtually impossible as much phone service is through the same providers as the internet.
I mean, is it even still possible to dial up to another computer system without going through the internet at some point?
