Just because we could, doesn't mean we should

Ventura takes someone to task for mislabeling Sanders as a Communist rather than a Socialist and ends the comment by saying if we weren't involved in the wars we could pay for everything Sanders is proposing.
I won't even go into the feasibility of being able to have a balanced budget with Sanders's utopic programs, but instead I will just say, even if the country could pay for them and have a balanced budget, should they be paying for those programs? What is the moral justification that Sanders, or Clinton or anyone else uses to take from one man for the sake of another? And what is with the trend of holding certain European countries out as being somehow better than Capitalism (as opposed to the sudo-Captialism we have here in the US)?

But defense of the free individual against a tyrannical bully may be justification. I argue that even if we did pull all armed forces back into US land or territory, we would not be able to offset the altruistic costs of wiping the noses of our common man. Our social security obligations dwarf the national defense budget. The free college costs will surpass this same budget by itself. The invisible predator Ventura obviously refuses to see is the cost placed on ones spirit when others steal from his life; With the approval of 50% of the population. Is Ventura an "idiot"? Maybe...or maybe he just wants to be a member of "Team Loot"
with the power of the police to back up the vote,
it is still enslavement by force. (It is a little less
brazen than Communism, but essentially amounts
to the same thing).
How much of what you have gotten for free, (not counting gifts) do you appreciate and feel a sense of satisfaction, pride of ownership or accomplishment?
Does anything about the attainment of free stuff prepare you for greater challenges, survival, or greater responsibility?
But the adults, have no excuse.
I don't like Trump, and I strongly hope he does not become the Republican nominee. But
I would still prefer him over Hillary Clinton or
Bernie Sanders.
him already in the Virginia primary. He is not ideal,
but I consider him the best alternative available.
(As to his being born in Canada, I believe that the
Court already determined that he was "natural-
born", for all that).
case, I don't remember the name; I heard about itonly on radio, and, I admit, that was from Cruz. ButI have heard nothing from anyone finding fault with that case, or disputing, specifically, that particular ruling. It seems it had something to do with his mother being an American citizen.

OK, seriously, he's correct. Makes me wonder when they stopped teaching government and civics and Political Science in High School... That's like calling Bernie's opponent a National Socialist (in the old German sense)...
Hmmm... wait a minute. Something flawed with that argument... --grins--
