Even if we disregard the ideas in this article and see wealth as something to be distributed and residtributed by systems, consider the numbers. The 1% pay a third of fed income taxes. They already pay close to half their income. Let's say we double that, so they pay almost all. Let's pretend they keep working despite not keeping most of their earnings. That would a 33% increase in taxes. Is he saying a 33% increase in tax revenue would change the country radically? Imagine we keep borrowing at present levels and everything the gov't does for and to the people is increased 33%.That clearly wouldn't solve the problems of the world.Mark as read | Best of... | Permalink|
