Every violation needs to evaluated. Was it an honest mistake or a willing disregard for the law? This factor should be considered in the penalty phase.

Let the hizzonor mayor of NY take the place of the police officer for the 7 year sentence in India's jail.

I like to support police but this was a stupid mistake. Secretary Kerry and others should show some humility and apologize for what happened and respectfully ask for leniency. Of course that won't happen.
