Just weeks after Monica Jones was seen in mainstream media protesting the failed religious discriminatory law in Phoenix, she was offered a ride while walking near her house. The driver turned out to be an undercover police officer who then arrested her for "manifestation of prostitution'.

This law is a vague statue which enables officers to arrest woman for no other reason than asking if they are police. The law is used to feed people to "Project Rose" as the city conducts massive drag nets hauling in dozens of individuals at a time. This profiling of woman by police is contested by the Arizona ACLU which notes that "The difference between 'innocent' and 'criminal' behavior often comes down to how a person looks.

Busted for "Walking While Trans"
"the only thing that needs to be changed is the system. if they come for me in the morning they're coming for you in at night" -Monica

A 2011 study in NYC found that 59% of transgender respondents said that they had been stopped by police. So over half of our sisters in NYC had they lived in Phoenix would have faced the prospect of "Project Rose".

Ms Jones was brought handcuffed, without being charged by police, to a church basement. It was then established that she hadn’t been previously charged with similar ‘crimes’. She was told if she enrolled in “Project Rose” and successfully completed she would have no arrest record.

Project Rose is the work of the Center for Arizona Policy (CAP) which has been dictating their ideology to the legislature effectively forcing their religion, through the police, on the general population.

Jesus or Jail?
The Capstone of Project Rose is religious programing. From their website:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Catholic Charities DIGNITY Diversion programs offer those arrested for prostitution the opportunity to avoid jail time. Offenders attend intense education to divert them from re-offending.

Run in conjunction with the City of Phoenix Prosecutor’s Office, our program provides 36 hours of self exploration and education to develop self esteem and give hope. Participants also receive rehabilitation services including support, education, and treatment to help them escape prostitution. Job placement assistance is also provided. Those who complete the program have their charges dismissed."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It requires a person, based on how they look, to find their god, assistance in changing jobs and housing, even if they don't need or want this 'help'.

Monica Jones bucked the trend and decided to fight this unjust, unconstitutional law saying

"I believe I was profiled as a sex worker because I am a transgender woman of color, and an activist"

But the court refused to recognize the unconstitutionality of the law and convicted Monica even though two witness testified that the officer was the one who approached Monica, invalidating the key provision of the law leading to her arrest.

I can't help but notice the absence of mainstream media after she was convicted. The onus to bring this injustice once again rests on we the people.

With my cynical sense of humor- we may be close to the reverse - programs to teach multi-genderism to the narrow minded monogamous as part of population reduction measures deemed necessary by the conservationists.
A more enlightened approach would be allow it subject to licenses and a tax-
there would be a license to walk while trans, to walk while thinking, 'recreating', and so on.

But more seriously, seems to me like entrapment as well extortion.

Don't we have a Constitutional right to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness? The only obligation the Government has (the Military down to the Cop on the street) is to protect us from harm. I am not harmed by these people. So leave them alone to do as they wish, even if they earn their living in doing so. What others believe should not be forced on me.

If "she" isn't doing anything wrong, why the targeting? In any given rehab program you need to enter voluntarily in order for successful resolution to your addiction. This needs to not be forced upon anyone.

I completely agree. Police tend to just assume that any transgender person they see is automatically a prostitute, even when the transgender person in question is doing nothing but walking down the street.

I know, it's horrible. Many transgender people are often arrested under false accusations of soliciting prostitution, even when they aren't actually prostitutes. Due to negative stereotypes, police officers have a strong tendency to just assume every transgender person they see is automatically a prostitute, thus marking the group for disproportionate targeting by police. In Arizona, the situation appears to be compounded by a dangerous combination of church and state, which violates people's religious freedom and the right to due process. Guilty by accusation is the standard they go by.

    Many problems with this practice!
    1. Arresting people based on how they look and if they ask if you are a police officer? Are you kidding? Next some socialist will decide to use this law to arrest people legally, open-carrying with some twisted language where they tell you to do something forcefully, without identifying themselves (would you show me you firearm? That looks like a concealed carry to me, do you have a concealed carry permit?), and you foolishly ask them if they have the authority to ask you to do it.
    2. Taking them to a church (wtf) after detaining them: Red Pill if you choose god, Blue Pill if you don't.
Two fundamental violations of our rights!

Disgusted that the police would go along with this practice, but reminded that some police are simply cowardly bullies, and this suits them just fine.

In the bad old days you were either male or female.

Now, there is no need to be a genderist or even a speciesist.
In a survey of readers, an Australian university magazine gives over fifty options for gender identity. No doubt any and all of them demand to be able to marry any and all on the list.
Not on the list? Add your own label.
Of course if they truly love each other(s), why only one?

    Let us all prey:
That these measures attract government funding for this important trans-existential initiative.

Project Rose... personal freedoms or religion as the 'cure'...

Way to GO, Arizona... to hell in a handbasket.

Great combination: misapplication of a law.

Issue one did "she" get into a car with a complete stranger? Yes.
This act alone would not result in an arrest, there had to be conversation which led the officer to take action.
Now should there be a non sectarian / sectarian choice for persons who don/t believe one way or another the answer is yes.
Now its innocent until proven guilty. I assume "she" is innocent and the conversation could have been misunderstood by one or both of them.
    Solution?
Cab, call a friend or offer gas money for the ride.
My hope is that this is cleared up

1.the law has changed so that if you ask the driver if he is a police officer that is presumption of solicitation. undercover police work chaps my a $$ most of the time. It's entrapment just waiting to happen and should be illegal.
      2. I notice you don't mention the kidnapping. She was not formally charged, she was not taken to jail-but to a church basement and given a choice-study God stuff our way or you will be charged with a crime. There are so many unconstitutional things about that-where to begin. What's up arizona?

My guess is that "she" was intentionally dressed like a pros in order to get picked up so that "she" could make a stink about this law and practice.

Not saying that there's anything wrong with that, but trying to portray oneself as "innocent" when they in fact were trying to get arrested isn't quite honest.
