Fellow Strikers,

Now is the time to start fighting for the message. I have seen a 200% increase in Alerts today with topics ranging from Ayn Rand being an advocate for bad sex down to Paul Ryan being cold hearted and a hypocrit. Two weeks ago Scott on the call requested us to setup google alerts. If you havn't done so yet, now is the time. The amound of press that is going to hit tomorrow and over the weekend is going to be huge and if we don't voice ourselves in defense of the movie and it's message we are rolling over for the liberal media once again.

Go hard. Post on every factless post you find. Don't get emotional, just point out the errors in the article and rise above the mundane.

Thanks,

Joe

Well, Ryan is a hypocrite. If he is an example of what an objectivist is I wouldn't consider myself one. Fortunately, Ryan is no more of an objectivist than than romney, biden, or obama. You can't be in favor of an all intrusive, big brother nanny state government an say you were influenced by Ayn Rand. That just doesn't work.

With all due respect, trackman, I disagree with this approach. We are at the stage in the Atlas project, both in terms of the novel's progression on the big screen, and in terms of the box office, where the only ones we can reach are the reachable. Only the committed will make or break Atlas, not the zero.

    Greetings trackman13,
They say that there is no such thing as bad publicity, so it pleases me to see so much attention one way or the other directed at a novel and philosophy I never thought would make any headway in my lifetime. I am well over the hill and thought it would not happen in my lifetime, but here it is; the movies are being made and the philosophy is being extolled and criticized in the media and political world! What astounds me is how anyone could find fault with a philosophy that stresses objective appraisals of existence with ration and reason as primary tools of cognition!

I understand how the atheist angle could ruffle some feathers, but the rest of the philosophy pertaining to our earthly existence, metaphysics, and epistemology are as scientific and logical as possible. How can one argue against that on logical grounds? You can’t, that is why the arguments break down to non-sequiturs and ad- hominem attacks. Those absolutists that demand acceptance of atheism with the rest of the philosophy or nothing at all are only dissuading some from exploring a larger world! I am quite content to allow others their beliefs regarding an afterlife and pleased when they adopt objectivism for purposes of understanding this earthly existence. If they deal with me objectively, what difference does it make to me where they think they will go after death?

This is the time if ever there was one to make the case! There is much misinformation out there needing rebuttal!
    O.A.
