Another incident of corruption in law enforcement. How do we negate things like this?

    I don't know. It seems hard because in any job you get a culture of people with a notion of how the job should be done and a sense that any outsider is just Dilbert's pointy-haired daft boss. The culture has to change. These less-lethal things like beanbag rounds and stun guns need to be alternatives to using live rounds, not a way to deal with someone waving a knife.

    I can understand how the police must feel. They have to confront knife-wielding crazy people on a regular basis. If shooting beanbag rounds is safer and easier for them than some other approach, I see why they want to do it. I don't know how to change the culture.

    It's the policy of that police department to shoot first, then ask why they're there. If they don't answer because they're already dead, then they can get taser practice and consider it resisting arrest. Yahoo New Mexico. 8-( The practice must be great for tourism....
