North Colorado

Several counties in northern Colorado are considering forming the 51st State. Could this be the beginning of Galt's Gulch? If so, my bags are packed.

    Add the other 51st state movements out west - Jefferson (Southern Oregon and Northern California) which has been going on since about 1941, as well as the movement (don't knnow the name of them) in southeast California... face it, we normal people are fed up with the liberal politics of Urban(e) California (and northwest Oregon, for that matter). I see 6 new senators... so far.

    I think that should any of them succeed, it will start a waterfall... we may end up with 72 states rather than 50. Wouldn't bother me none, either...

    I'm afraid this great nation is on the cusp of dissolution if something dramatic does not occur to change the direction... We are no longer a nation of laws, but of men... We no longer have a government "of the people, by the people, and for the people."

    Thank you for your comments. Rather secede from the union, forming another state seems to be more palatable. The reason the counties are annoyed is from federal gun control and energy policies. Guess I won't have to remove my NRA sticker from my car.

    Would someone please tell me what they are attempting to accomplish? Or, for that matter, who are they upset with?

    If they are only separating from their home state, and becoming a new state. then they are still under DC rule.

    Could this be the ultimate polarization of Americans? To the point that you want to put yourself into a different (read: new) state from your liberal neighbor? What happens to the liberals already living in your new state boundaries?

    All I need is some info....

    hey Ben, LTNS. um, have you ever been to Greeley? They have some sort of grain processing and the place stinks 24/7. granby is nicer though. The federal government will not let it happen. Most of the good gulches in Colorado are infested with progressives. it's annoying. Don't pack your bags too quickly

    There are also some counties in Western Nebraska considering to join in with them. It will be interesting in the coming weeks to see what becomes of their movement.
