Also, Technology and invention are two different meanings, which is why they're two different words. Stating "Google is your friend" comes across snide and condescending, as if you are insinuating that my question is extremely basic rather than just stating "This is a basic question."

That wasn't what I was doing, that is what you assumed I was doing. It's kind of tough to state that I was being condescending without hearing the tone of my voice or without more details in the reply in question.
