Ring, Ring - Big Brother is Calling: NY Anti-Encryption Bill Would Force Phone Makers to Add a Backdoor
I'd almost like to see this happen just to see how it backfires on New York lawmakers.
Apple vehemently opposes this and I could definitely see them just stopping sales in New York all together if this bill went into effect.
Also, other cell phone manufactures aren't going to make "special" phones just for New York meaning they have to change how all of their phones are made or stop selling in New York.
This bill could make it so you have to drive across state lines just to purchase a cell phone....
