Yes, but it's not surprising at all. Our income tax is a little higher than OH. It's always hard to estimate, but when my wife and I are having a good year, we set aside close to half. Then four times a year we write huge checks. It usually comes out to about a third. We just keep in an savings account. If everyone did that, politicians would find a way to lower taxes. But it comes out of each pay check, and people think they got a holiday present when they file their taxes. If they had to hand the money to the gov't, they would revolt against taxes.
