Wonder if this is true
I have not verified this and do not want to take the time, but I received this in an email chain. Likely some truth with exaggeration.
I have left out most of the email as it was not even of interest, but these parts were interesting. IF anyone feels like vetting the message that would be cool.

The "first lady" has no claim on any funding whatsoever. She hasn't proven to be competent in any way and should not be awarded a government job or any government funding.
It's a republic owing its existence to the sovereign people.
It is not a monarchy or aristocracy.
have also not proven to be competent. -- j

Bush had 16 according to the 2008 White house staff report.
Hillary had 19 according to the same white house staff report.
Nancy Reagan had 15 from the same report I found. By far the highest until Hillary.
The article that I found these in did say that these numbers were nearly impossible to nail down as it is a common practice to have "staffers" report in to other government divisions and be hidden as a result.
I think it is safe to say, that the entire email thread has false numbers, and wanted to paint democrats worse than republicans. It is also safe to say that we pay way to much money to fund a huge group of people that are not needed so that a woman who lives on welfare provided by the state can have a bunch of people around her that are also on welfare provided by the state.
[/sarcasm]
I think its also telling to look at the vacation expenses by administration. Bill Clinton looked downright penurious in comparison to the Obamas. Bush II tended to use his own ranch, which at least kept costs down.
and imperialism, I would suppose. . if you can get away with it,
why not, she might say. . Chris Plante would say, "It's great to be a Democrat." -- j

It would be interesting to know if your friend would say the Bush's were also frivolous or not.

That is more likely since Clinton had 7, Bush had 16 and then escalation to 22 or 24 sounds far more likely than going down. No one seems to cut back anywhere on tax money spending.
I have also seen things on snopes that are dead wrong so I do not trust them, as you stated, liberal leaning.

It's also just like a progressive not to live within it's means...
Past Presidents 'seemed' to live within their salaried means.
Of course, I could be wrong and this might be a misrepresentation.
All these comments are worth a read...they're a hoot

Would not supersize me if Nancy also had a entourage paid for by the tax payers. .
They will do more damage after they are out of the white house than when they were in it.
