Ideally, the actor playing John Galt in Atlas Shrugged Part 3 will appear to have jumped right off of the pages of Atlas Shrugged. However, in our quest to find the perfect John Galt, some tough choices may have to be made. That's where you come in.

If you had to choose, which would you consider the number one priority in casting John Galt?

A. As long as the actor looks and acts like John Galt, I don't care what his personal beliefs are.
B. The actor needs to possess a deep understanding of, and passion for, Ayn Rand's ideas first and foremost.

I would recommend the actor Karl Urban to play John Galt. Karl is the actor who is currently playing Dr. McCoy in the Star Trek movie. He is of perfect age. He has the right demeanor and he is likeable as an actor. Since his family owned a family business, I would believe he would have an understanding of Ayn Rand's beliefs. This would be my first choice.

    A. A good actor can make anything believable. However, he should be required to read the book and at least be oriented that way. No pinkos should be considered (e.g. Alec Baldwin).

There isn't the slightest chance in hell that the production can afford any of these people. Think more along the lines of anyone who had a series cancelled two years ago and is getting very hungry.

Definitely NOT Tom Hanks, Leo and any of the others that are big libs, and even though I Iove Depp's acting, I think he is a lib too, not sure about some of the others. It would be an insult to the message of the movie to be played by a lib. It is a matter of principle. Wahlberg, McConaughey, or Denzel, would be good, strong actors, but I am not familiar with their political stance which is a big issue with me for who would play the part, I don't care how well they act, they have a real life and we eventually hear what they believe.

I am thinking a different direction, no big fancy pretty boy or tough guy, I am thinking a normal guy, that may not come off as a rocket scientist, but can come of as maybe the undiscovered genius in a common man wrapper that is tired of being taken advantage of.

Steve Buscemi comes to mind, could play a mad scientist, or common work working man...
