"In 9 Things to Say Goodbye To, I lamented on the loss of privacy and free speech.
Unfortunately, the situation is much worse, thanks a huge group of senatorial cowards that wrote and passed a "defense" bill that allows US citizens to be arrested, detained, even sent to Guantanamo, Cuba without being charged with any crimes.

Obama's Blatant Hypocrisy
The "reservations" Obama has are of his own making. Please consider this skewering of President Obama by Rachel Maddow.

Bill Passes Senate 86 to 13
Unfortunately the Indefinite detention bill passed in Senate
Exactly 220 years to the date after the Bill of Rights was ratified, the US Senate today voted 86 to 13 in favor of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2012, allowing the indefinite detention and torture of Americans.
As RT reported earlier, one provision in NDAA FY2012 will allow for the reinstatement of “enhanced interrogation techniques,” essentially making waterboarding and forms of psychological torture a very possible reality for anyone America deems to be a threat, including its own citizens who, prior to the ruling, had the US Constitution on their side.
Among the corporations which have lobbied in support of NDAA FY2012 are several military contractors, including Honeywell and Bluewater Defense, who together have received millions of dollars in Pentagon guarantees this year alone.
“How long can you hold them? As long as it takes to make us safe,” said Graham.
In his closing marks, Graham ironically recited that in respect to “civil liberties and the American way of life,” US citizens must fight. “If we don’t fight for it, we’re going to lose it.”
Unfit for Office
Any Senator voting on a bill that would allow US citizens to be arrested, detained indefinitely, even sent to Cuba without being formally charged with any crime is no friend or supporter to the US constitution.
Note the absurd irony in Graham's statements. The fight for freedom can never be won by trashing freedoms or the Bill of Rights.
Senator Graham and Senator McCain are both huge hypocrites and cowards.
Indeed, all 86 Senators who voted for that bill are cowards, a hypocrites, and no friend to the United States or the US Constitution.
Even more disgusting, Senator Mark Udall introduced an amendment intended to forbid the indefinite detention of U.S. citizens and even that amendment was rejected by a vote of 38–60.
I do not have a roll call on that, but there are 60 extreme cowards who wrap themselves in a flag while pissing on the Constitution.

Those are the only six Republicans willing to stand behind the Constitution.

Benjamin Franklin is correct and Senator Rand Paul was a hero for fighting this bill. Sadly, Rand Paul failed to a collective group of cowards who do not know what the Constitution is about or why we need it." END OF ARTICLE Links to Videos embedded at the site
Rachel Maddow's televised report is the primary and first one to watch. It's a commentary on the speech Obomboy made in front of the original Constitution in support of killing the Bill of Rights.
1.Claiming presidential authority to set aside the Bill of Ritghts.
2. Arrests made on 'suspicion supporting terrorist activities' an upgrade from merelyh suspicion of terrorism' both of which set aside due process, probable cause, warrants, judges, trials and defense attorneys and are NOT limited to non-citizens.
3. Arrests on crimes or other illegal acts that MAY be carried out sometime in the future. Which was not limited to current or future terrorist groups. There is no limitation at all.
4. Imposing martial law.
5. Giving the military judicial authority over the civilian population.
That is the top five
60 Senators including all but 8 Republicans voted for this Bill.
If you don't review this carefully you have no business quoting the Constitution or the Bill of Rights but I'll give you some more in comments.

No pardon that's forbidden in cases of impeachment.
Sorry I don't support RInos and Super Rinos and all that's left is Fiorino and Rubio. Fiorino is a Super 'Rino Outsider and Rubio is a Rino Enabler but after that last little exclusive on why he voted for a bill hoping the Democrats would fix it .....Bang Bang and then their were none.
Kinda predicted that but it doesn't take that much to figure it out. Square in square holes and round in round holes. The replacement would be the elected Vice-President and if he wasn't available Speaker or Pro Tem.
They have no power until sworn in. It's all Obama and Biden until noon on the 20th. Then if vacancy or two vacancies occured Act of Succession which means what's his name
Boners replacement if the two missing were Republicans but if the two missing links were Hillary and Bernie then Speaker of the House. One second after noon the 20th of Jan Bumbla has no power nor does Bythen.
Thing to watch is any changes in the Repos and Demos. they are sworn in on Jan 3rd. Any power shift and we might get President Pellosillyni.EITHER WAY. The Act of Succession does not follow party lines only positions in Congress. No Cabinet the new Pres isn't sworn yet. they don't count. etc.
Two Comments
Obama's claim to using these measures by executive edict clearly without question violates the Constitution and his oath of office. We aren't talking Misdemeanor here but high crimes. As the subject title suggestion one House moves to imipeach which means bring charges as a Grand Jury the the other must vote to convict.
Also remember the Constituion forbids Presidential Pardons being used in any impeachment hearings.
HOW are you going to get one or the other when one House has 60 of 98 two not present as co-conspirators?
Second Co-opting the Military.
You've read my writings on the military by virtue of their oath of office being the last ditch defense of the Constitution as a right, a duty and a responsibility. They are not advised how to judge when is the time to act. It's up to them.
You have also read my opinion that a good chunk of the military are careerists who don't care spit for their oath of office. But NOT a majority. Certainly the one's selected or appointed to the highest offices are suspect.
This bill requires the military to break faith with their Oath of Office by violating major portions of the Constitution especially the Bill of Rights, with no limitations and carry out military tribunals for arrested civilians. There are no limits. Obama also claimed the power to use the military in that manner.
You will get a clearer picture of this bill before Congress with one house yet to go after watching the first and I think the second video.
You supporters of the give the Republicans another chance or worse the lesser evilists look to see if your candidate is on that list of Senators voting No. Meanwhile you wanted left wing fascist police state? Der Fuhrer heard your plea.
I also stated that IF the military moves it will be as a counter-revolution not a revolution. Obama has pre-empted that with a direct order to become the American SS. However military people obeying that order should remember the Nuremberg Trials. A plea of "I was only following orders" is an admission of guilt with a plea for clemency or lighter punishment.
