A New Beginning:

Salutations,
I go by the screen name ObjectiveAnalyst. I am a student of objectivism. I have studied many philosophies, read many works of the most notable philosophers. I have also read many books of note on political science, American history, economics, etc. I am a business owner, engineer, a manufacturer, and I did build my business.
I believe that Objectivism is the most objective, rational, logical appraisal of the way the world actually works short of the interference of the irrational influences of animals, particularly mankind. It is in the recognition of these monkey wrenches that one must accept the reality that we do not yet live in an ideal objective world; that the world affected by these irrational influences must be dealt with as it is until these influences are neutralized. This is where effort must be applied and occasionally pragmatism must deal with the realities as they are. As much as I desire a world that operated on objectivist principles it is not yet so. When enough people are educated properly in critical/ objective thinking we may reach a point of critical mass and bring about a more objective existence. This is a goal worthy of effort.
Carpe diem!

I saw your comments to J.R. Sedivy.
We should contact each other. I have 3D printing projects to make tissue scaffolding, solid rocket propellant, and metallic heat exchangers, either funded by myself or by private industry.
I have been a professor for 15 years at Florida Tech in chemical engineering, and as of this year, biomedical engineering. I teach the future rocket scientists and engineers, as well as the Stealth technology necessary for generating a shield like Galt did for his gulch, in my materials science and engineering class, too.
My primary focus has been developing a nanotechnology minor program that has more credits of lab than any others I have seen. I have funded that program and my research with about $100 K from my own pocket, purchasing items on EBay and LabX, and either getting them working myself or having students do it with me. At Florida Tech, if I bring in research contracts and can't publish for propietary reasons, that is acceptable (unlike the publish or perish elsewhere). In addition to the traditional research grants and contracts, we have a branch called Florida Tech Consulting for which you can pay only a 15% overhead rate for my (and perhaps my group's services) while keeping the intellectual property (IP) for your company.
I see myself as like Quentin Daniels, John Galt's assistant from the Utah Institute of Technology.

Your credentials are impressive. I have several customers that use 3-D printing sources for patterns for metal castings. The process has cut into my business slightly over the years. I used to produce more prototype low volume tools. Now I must produce more high volume production tools to fill in the loss. I will keep your contact info handy in case I find someone looking for new sources.
If you have anything in particular you may wish to discuss, contact me with a Private Message and I will be happy to review it and If desirable, I will provide contact info.
Regards,
O.A.
