are we becoming the user accessories for our gadgets?
how do you feel when your computer tells you to
re-boot, a half-hour process involving re-creating
your workspace after it blinks its red light for five minutes?
as for myself, I have about 60 windows open so that
I can bounce back and forth between actions without delay. -- j

Certainly computers and printers are worth while. One each and the second is not necessary more than half a dozen times a year. I gave one away to some students who share it between six or seven households. No ink or powder cartridges at a million dollars each. Saves a lot of space for my typewriter.
This last year i went touch screen in cell radio phones. Never again. other than the camera feature it serves no useful purpose - came with no directions - and cannot hold a setting more than one day. the chargers (three in four months) and the batteries four in three months are shite. I will go to the older style but with a camera lens. That is useful. I haven't taken a verbal note yet on any of them. I have kindle though and that is worth while especially on a boat with limited space. one of the volumes is Android for Dummies. I don't think android will have a continued presence. Unless they start providing instructions.
The rule is and it's a good rule. IS it USEFUL. For most technology marginally so with limited shelf life.
The Lead One Oh One printer and notebook, Spiral bound still rule. I've yet to have one fail.
