Here's another Ayn Rand article I recently stumbled upon. What are your thoughts on this articles stance on Ayn Rand and her role in the Republican Party?

I think the author is frightened and trying to do a put-down. She quotes antique articles. I have never known Objectivists to have any political clout and don't expect them to have any in the future. They seem to avoid politics and organized efforts. Am an ex-objectivist. Became a believer after being spared by an angel on a bloody, smoked choked no man's land. Have had two other encounters with an angel since that time, the face-to-face type encounter. Learned a few things. Turned my whole concept of the world upside down an spun it around. Be free, catch fire.

    1. I think that is probably my favorite picture of Ayn Rand. 2. If a booth sponsored by American Atheists is banned, how long before booths sponsored by Objectivists are banned? After all, we are atheists. 3. I disagree with Ms Stoker in that I do not believe that the religious stance of much of the right is a sham. I think they are trying to to hide their real motivations and character by, on occasion, mentioning Ayn Rand's ideas with no real understanding of them or intention of using them. That is the real sham.

Readers here know I think the left/right battle is a total sham. I reject the idea that rightwingers' greed makes them overlook the parts of Rand they don't like. Rightwingers and leftwingers are buying into a bogus ideology. Politicians have lines that work; writers and media personalities know how to tap into the ideological battle; these people just buy into it.

My reading of Fountainhead and AS is it's calling on people to reject these group ideologies in favor of thinking for themselves.
