US Voters for the two major parties.

I'll by the "Stupid" tag for the Democrat and Republican party members. What about the independents? Neither party is able to elect anyone without a majority of the independents voting for them.
Why do they vote the way they do? When it comes to elections the voters (D, R or I)vote on emotion not logic based on analysis of the issues and solutions put forward by one party or the other. If analysis and intellect ruled elections, many would have turned out much different, in particular the election of 2012.
