Monopoly: The Hidden Game
"On the surface, Monopoly is all about what the title literally states, trying to create a monopoly and dominate the other players with cunning and unscrupulous tactics. The goal is to strip your fellow players of all their property and money, leaving them utterly defeated and beaten with nothing left, a pure zero sum game. Is it a zero sum game, however?"
I always favored another board game: 'Lie, Cheat, and Steal' You'd be amazed how many would get angry when you put over on them, even though they know going in what the rules and intent is.
Especially the central rule - you must roll the dice and pay rent/taxes. You can either pay taxes on your earnings/interest or eat your seed capital. If you try to quit, we will force you back in the game. Them's the rules. It's your turn.
