The only problem I have with this is private corporation almost always take their lead from the government. If the government gets away with it, so can Walmart and etc., I sorely miss the days when I could buy a gallon of milk anonymously without having to produce my store “id” to get a lousy twenty cent discount. Soon they’ll be scanning my face and following me from store to store. Whatever. It is what it is.
As a voting citizen of the US, you have the power to organize, initiate, rally, lobby, etc. This is a hugely bi-partisan issue. If you are a Republican, organizing your own base to repel Republican Senators and Representatives who are behind these measures(Hatch for one) you will have greater influence. In groups of friends, stopping the conversation when someone brings up "If you haven't done anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about," your refuting argument can influence the entire group. "Whatever. It is what it is" do statements like this sound like a fellow gulcher? I think a Zombie has taken over Mimi :o
Lol! Mimi from Zombieland. Kind of got a ring to it. ;) I understand the argument but I also realize that there is no right to privacy clearly expressed in the Constitution. It is implied in several articles but not defined. Without a clear, legal “right” nobody really has to ask your permission or mine before implementing practices that violate what you or I would consider personal space. Property, yes, space you exist in, no. I try not to lose sleep on things I can’t change overnight or for that matter ever. Hence, it is, what it is. As far as not sounding like a fellow glutcher... We share a love of the individual, and a love of the Atlas Shrugged movies. That’s enough for me. Your just going to have to except someone who doesn’t always share your political views is amongst you and wants to be part of the discussion. Pass the popcorn.
My son and I had eye appointments recently. One of the new eye tests is a retinal scan. I balked and asked, "What is this for?" And the answer was something vague like, "It gets a good picture of the eye." I asked, "And what do you need that for?" Again a vague, "Everybody has them done, to see the eye better." Needless to say we did NOT get the retinal scan. The Dr. mentioned that she had never had anyone with reservations about it like I had before, which I thought was strange at first and then I remembered all the sheep I'm surrounded by. The Dr. then asked me about the book I was holding, "Bullies" by Ben Shapiro and said she had heard good things about it. I said, "It's a real eye opener", then laughed, "ha..eye opener". (If I have to explain that you weren't paying attention.)
Why is the solution always to catalog/document the law abiding? The modern equivalent of a forearm tattoo?... The states already provide plenty of identification options.
Long neck. Heavy solid body. Great weapon. Big booming amp. Probably not. Drat! Guess I need to practice '60's protest songs on my 6-string acoustic/electric Fender. If you get up to the rockies on your trip let me know we'll meet up.
