Ha ha ha! Thanks for posting this Scott! I know a little bit about this from my experience on the V-22 Osprey tiltrotor. I love the concept and marketing but I'm very skeptical. The only way to provide real biohazard protection is with a large positive pressure gradient and extremely thorough sealing. Meaning, you increase the air pressure inside your compartment so that air is always trying to escape outward. You do also need expensive and unique filtration systems.
I'm a huge admirer of Musk but he took a credibility hit with me on this one. I don't have direct experience with hospital biohazard zones but I would expect they also rely on higher pressures too. Maybe his car will have a hell of a fan...he needs to provide some specs to the engineering geeks like me!
