No loss but the timing is curious. Wonder what happened?

Another example of a leader with no philosophy other than I want to be in charge. Asked what he wants to do when he is in charge and the answer is "Be in charge". The buffoons we elect are just parasites trying to preserve their species. We are too busy living our lives to be bothered with them while they steal our freedom and rob us blind. They are so nearly all the same that is isn't worth thinking about the differences. This will not change by our prescribed process without a group of true patriots that develop a subterfuge that will get them elected without revealing their intent. While it sounds dangerous it is no different to what happens anyway but this time honest men will be the ones that have to resort to the lie of the free lunch.

Wheels within wheels. What we know about what goes on behind the scenes in congress is virtually nothing, but I suspect there's much more there than meets the eye.

Maybe the hostile remarks about his performance
got to him, and he decided he didn't want to under-
go that anymore. (Not that people are wrong to
criticize him; I just think it may have had that
    effect).

My guess is Boehner was stunned to read that (out in the hinterland) 5 of every 8 Republicans feel they've been betrayed by him and the party.
The fitting sendoff for Boehner would be for everyone to have a crying drink.
On, Patriots, to the Senate and McConnell.

when my radio interrupt feed died the guest was remarking they are now well aware of who puts them in office. my comment is they are well aware of those of us not in the RIno party ready to pull the plug on them. Guest said something about biggest thing since civil rights?
in other words ballots not bullets huzzah the counter revolution!

A nice part of the announcement as given by the press was that Bonehead wanted to preserve the institution (read: establishment or the political class) of the Congress and he (poor chap) felt he was being attacked by conservatives. Just when I lose all hope, it springs forth that "the message" may be getting across to the left.

We should take a page out of Limbaugh's book going way back to his days on the Sacramento or Rio Linda station. "Let's be fair you have to give the Governor Arkansas credit. While he was CINC of the Arky NG not one Iraqui made it west of little Rock."

Applied to the day's events...let's be fair to Francis while he was entertaining us we were diverted from dealing with the likes of Boner, Hillary, Biden, McC whoever with a C not a G.and the rest of the leftists and not one bill made it to the lame ducks desk. THAT is something to thankful and quack about.

I for one am thankful for the pause and a change in the humor.

I think he finally saw the writing on the wall. Remember, it was only a few weeks ago that a resolution was introduced to the House calling for what amounts to a no-confidence vote in Boehner as Speaker. And given his track record of caving to the Democrats on everything and the current Presidential candidates race being led decidedly by non-Establishment Republicans (and in many ways non-politician Republicans given that top four consist of two business leaders, a doctor and a rogue Senator who used to clerk for the Supreme Court) I think he decided it was better to leave on his own terms than get forced out.

Good riddance. Now if only McConnell would step aside as Senate Majority Leader we might be able to actually get something done. I'd love to see Rand Paul or Mike Lee step up. On the House side, I'd love to see Louis Gohmert as the next Speaker - and that mainly because I'd like to see Trey Gowdy stay as Chair of government Oversight Committee until he can get put in as Attorney General.

Excellent analysis. +1. I actually hoped that when McConnell became majority leader that his experience would help. Turns out it helped Obama.

With you there. Unfortunately, McConnell was just as bad - only in the Senate.

Update: Both Gohmert and Gowdy have said that they refuse to run for the Speakership. Gohmert threw his weight behind Meadows (the one who introduced the motion against Boehner in the first place). We'll see how things play out before I get too hopeful, however, as the other challenger is one of Boehner's lackies.
